Yoga & Dance with Marina Magalhães
Marina Magalhães is a border-crosser, bridge-builder, and dance-and-change-maker from Brazil, based in Los Angeles. She has ten years of experience designing and teaching movement-based classes for bodies of all ages and levels through the world, including the US, Cuba, Brazil, Botswana, South Africa, and France. As a certified yoga teacher, her practice is rooted in the belief that self-care is radical and that our on-going well-being is intrinsically tied to the well-being of our communities and environment. As a dance teacher, she draws from ancestral dances of the Latin and Afro-Latin diaspora, both street-based and spiritual practices, to decolonize the body. She is currently a Lecturer at UC Riverside, a Resident Artist at Pieter Performance Space, and pursuing her MFA degree in Dance at University of the Arts. www.marinamagalhaes.com
